YCA conducts a training course on controlling strategic trade and dual-use goods

Under the patronage of H.E. Salem Saleh bin Breik, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and in implementation of the government’s directives and the outcomes of the Supreme Committee to Combat Smuggling, Yemen Customs Authority(YCA) implemented a two-day training course on the control of strategic trade and dual-use goods at the Customs Training Center.
The course targeted 27 trainees from YCA Headquarters and the Free Zone Port Customs, and aimed to aknowledge the trainees on how to control strategic trade and dual-use goods under national and international legislation.
The training also included different types of materials and machines used in the manufacture of nuclear, chemical, biological and conventional weapons, in addition to providing models showing the international markings for shipping dangerous goods and how to deal with them, whether in customs procedures or the personal safety of the customs officer.
At the conclusion of the course, YCA Chairman, Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Qubati, listened to the trainees who presented a summary of the knowledge they received during the course.
He emphasized the importance of building customs capacities in line with field tasks, asking the trainees to be more informed and raise their knowledge ambitions in various customs fields.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Ahmed Al-Hajj, Assistant deputy of enforcement Affairs, Engineer Fadhl Mohsen Al-Ban, General Manager of public Relations and International Cooperation, STCE Expert and trainer Abobakr Al-Sharhi, manager of International Relations, the preparator and presenter of the training course, and Reem Mahfouz, manager of the Customs Training Center.
