Yemen Customs Authority participated in the specialized training course on intellectual property protection organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and implemented by the Shanghai Customs College (SCU) during the period from 15 to 29 October 2025 in Shanghai, China.
The Customs Authority participated in this course with a delegation of four participants headed by Mr. Mursi Saeed Baghouza, General Manager of Exemptions and Temporary admission, within a group of 36 participants from the customs administrations of Yemen, Egypt and the Comoros.
The course aimed to familiarize participants with the development of Chinese customs and the intellectual property protection system, in addition to reviewing customs and tax exemption systems on imports, artificial intelligence applications in customs work, Chinese experience in developing smart ports and modernizing customs control mechanisms in line with international trade rules.
The program also included field visits to a number of advanced Chinese customs sites and ports, most notably the Intelligent Inspection Center at Yingshan Automated Port – the world’s largest fully automated port – as well as the China-Europe Freight Train Station in Yiwu City, Pujiang Customs, and Lihang Customs Warehouses, where participants learned about the latest digital technologies in the fields of customs inspection and warehousing.
At the closing ceremony of the course, the head of YCA delegation expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Customs and the Shanghai Customs College for their great efforts in organizing the course and the high level of preparation and scientific content, stressing the importance of benefiting from the Chinese experience in developing customs work and enhancing the protection of intellectual property.
Mr. Wang Xiaogang, Vice President of Shanghai Customs College, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the participants, expressed his appreciation for their positive interaction and praised the level of cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the participating countries, before concluding the ceremony by distributing certificates to the participants.
