Yemen Customs Authority participated with a delegation headed by YCA assistant deputy of enforcement Mr.Ahmed Al-Hajj in a workshop on preparing a national action plan to combat smuggling.

The workshop was attended by representatives of a number of relevant government agencies and members of the Supreme Committee to Combat Smuggling.

The workshop was conducted with the support of the Export Control and Border Security Program and was held for six days in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The participants discussed several ideas and tasks assigned to each participating entity, where representatives of the Customs Authority provided a brief explanation of the activities carried out by the authority in the field of combating smuggling and the achievements made, and discussed the difficulties, capabilities, requirements, equipment and training activities that must be available to enable customs officials to fulfill their duty in combating smuggling at the borders and customs ports in accordance with the powers granted to them according to the Customs Law.
