YCA Chairman discusses with the representative of Action Against Hunger to enhance cooperation and facilitate the entry of aid into Yemen

YCA Chairman , Mr.Abdulhakim Radman Alkubati, discussed today, in the interim capital Aden, with the regional representative of Action Against Hunger in the Middle East and Africa, Ms. Anne Jarella, ways of cooperation and coordination of procedures to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid provided to the Yemeni people through various customs outlets.
During the meeting, which comes within the framework of enhancing humanitarian and relief efforts in Yemen, they reviewed the existing cooperation mechanisms between the two sides and the facilities provided by the Customs Authority to relief organizations, especially with regard to customs exemptions and the speedy release of relief shipments in order to ensure that food and medicine aid and necessary supplies reach the most needy groups without any delays that may hinder humanitarian work.
YCA Chairman Mr. Alkubati stressed the authority’s keenness to provide a supportive environment for humanitarian work, in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Salem Saleh binbureik to facilitate procedures and prioritize relief shipments, in line with the national and humanitarian obligations towards the Yemeni people.
For her part, the representative of the organization, Jarbla, praised the role played by the Customs Authority in the field of customs exemptions to support the humanitarian operation carried out by the organization, stressing the importance of continued coordination to ensure the arrival of aid quickly and efficiently in order to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the difficult humanitarian situation in Yemen.
The meeting was attended YCA Deputy Dr. Mohammed al-Dahni, YCA assisitant deputy for Technical Affairs Mr.Abdullah Saleh al-Habshi, General Manager of Exemptions and Temporary Entry, Mursi Saeed Baghouza, manager of International Relations Abobakr al-Sharhi, and on the WCO’s side, Relations Officer Mohammed al-Sarouri and WCO Aden Office Manager Mohammed Ali Batayeh.
