Under the patronage of H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Salem Saleh bin Breik, YCA concluded on Wednesday the first meeting of audit and risk staff at the authority’s office in the interim capital Aden.
The meeting, which was attended by 28 customs officials from the headquarters and various offices and customs outlets, discussed the mechanism of auditing and risk management, avoiding all issues and working on resolving them, and continuous coordination with the headquarters.

In his opening and closing speeches, YCA Chairman, Mr. Abdulhakim Radman Al-Qubati, stressed the need to implement the laws in force and the decisions issued by YCA Chairman, especially the department’s decision No. 7 of 2023 regarding the post-audit system.
He emphasized that customs auditing, in its three forms of accompanying, subsequent and post-audit, represents the protection of the trade chain and the rights of the state, in addition to protecting the customs officer, combating smuggling and enhancing compliance from trading partners.
Al-Qubati called on employees to work transparently with the commercial sector and make customs audits in order to improve customs work and create a true partnership between the Customs Authority and the commercial sector.
The meeting recommended the importance of making controls and ceilings for single-item goods, adopting only competition assets issued by neighboring countries, in addition to holding a future meeting of the directors general of the various ports, and reactivating the accompanying and subsequent review in the customs departments.
During the meeting, speeches and working papers were presented by: Undersecretary Dr. Mohamed Abdo Dahni, Assistant Undersecretary for Control Affairs Ahmed Al-Hajj, Director General of Audit and Risk Hamed Al-Shatari, Director General of International Relations and Cooperation Engineer Fadl Mohsen Al-Ban, Director of International Relations Abu Bakr Al-Sharhi, in addition to Deputy Directors General of Audit and Risk Shaker Abdel-Rouh and Aidarous Al-Duwaila.
