In implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Salem Saleh bin Breik, the chairman of the Customs Authority, Mr.Abdulhakim Radman Al-Qabati, met today at YCA Headquarters in the interim capital Aden with the governor of Socotra Archipelago, Engineer Raafat Al-Thaqali, where they discussed aspects of enhancing coordination and cooperation between YCA and the local authority in Socotra.
During the meeting, Al-Qubati praised the level of customs discipline in the Socotra Customs Office, praising the efforts exerted by the customs workers and their keenness to implement customs laws and procedures efficiently and supply all revenues to the Central Bank in Aden.
YCA chairman directed the speedy implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives to complete the customs building in Socotra and install the automated system, stressing the government’s keenness to develop customs performance in various ports, in order to enhance sovereign resources and improve the level of services provided, noting the importance of continued coordination with local authorities to ensure the facilitation of procedures and the effective application of customs regulations.
For his part, Governor Al-Thaqali praised the response of the leadership of the Customs Authority, stressing the readiness of the local authority to provide all aspects of support and cooperation in order to improve the level of customs work in Socotra.
