With UN cooperation, YCA concludes a five-course training program

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Salem Saleh Bin Borik, and in cooperation with the UNODC Global Programme on Maritime Crime, Yemen Customs Authority (YCA) concluded today the capacity building training program for customs officers, which targeted 65 customs officers from the Authority’s headquarters and various land, sea and air customs ports.
The training program was held at the Customs Training Center and lasted for three weeks and covered five training courses in anti-smuggling, customs inspection, use of portable X-ray scanners, combating commercial fraud at the border, body language and behavior analysis.
YCA deputy for Technical Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Al-Habshi, delivered a closing speech on behalf of YCA Chairman, Mr. Abdulhakim Alkubati, who stressed the continuation of rehabilitation and training of customs employees in all customs fields.
Calling The trainees for increasing security vigilance and combating smuggling in all its forms, whether harmful to the country’s security, represented by smuggling weapons and goods that can be used in military industries, which worries national, regional and international security, or preserving the country’s economy by combating forgery, counterfeiting and commercial fraud.
He extended YCA’s thanks and appreciation to the two customs experts of the Global Maritime Crime Control Program, Engineer Ismail Shadarmeh and Mr. Sari Al-Jardin from Jordan, for all their efforts in transferring their customs expertise through the training materials they presented during the training program.
The closing ceremony was attended by general manaer of customs enforcement and Anti-Smuggling Dr. Ali Jahtham, the general manager of Radiology and Automated Inspection Engineer Jalal Al-Afouri, Training customs manger, Mrs. Director Reem Mahfouz, and International Relations manager , MR.Abobakr Al-Sharhi.
