Yemeni customs officials conclude training workshop on control of strategic goods

The regional training workshop on the Strategic Trade Control Enforcement Program (STEP) for Yemeni Customs officials concluded today in Doha.

The four-day workshop targeted 24 employees from the Yemeni Customs Authority.

The training materials discussed several chapters of the Harmonized System related to strategic goods, including weapons of mass destruction, their materials and components, machinery that can be used in the production of such weapons, as well as international legislative frameworks and relevant bilateral initiatives.

The Director of the Regional Training Center, Mubarak Ibrahim Abu Al-Enein, explained the importance of cooperation between the World Customs Organization and the Regional Training Center in rehabilitating and training customs officers in the region in general and Yemeni Customs Authority employees in particular, thanking the trainers and trainees for the interaction and exchange of relevant customs information during the training.

He also explained the importance of providing such programs to educate employees on the methods and methods of monitoring strategic commodities.

Mr. Abu Bakr Al-Sharhi delivered the speech of the Customs Authority, in which he expressed, on behalf of the Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Abdulhakim Radman Al-Qubati, thanks and appreciation to the World Customs Organization for the support it provided and provided in the rehabilitation and training of customs officers, and expressed gratitude to the Qatar General Customs Authority for the good organization and generous hospitality represented by its President, H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Jamal, and expressed his gratitude to the Qatar Customs Authority for the good organization and hospitality.

The closing ceremony was attended by Ms. Eleonora Satori, Coordinator of the Strategic Trade Control Program at the World Customs Organization, Brother Mubarak Khalaf Abu Al-Enein, Head of Training and Continuing Education, and Brother Ahmed Hassan Al Jassim, Regional Workshops and International Events Officer.
