Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Qubati, YCA Chairman, met with His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Saeed bin Khamis Al-Ghaithi, Director General of Customs of the Sultanate of Oman, on the sidelines of the 61st regional meeting held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
YCA Chairman said that the meeting discussed aspects related to customs work that concern the two brotherly countries, most notably joint coordination and exchange of information related to customs affairs and activating the network link between border crossings.
Al-Qubati explained that if we are able to activate the network connection, it will enhance coordination efforts and permanent communication between the customs ports of Shahn, Sarafit and Nashtun with their counterparts in the Sultanate of Oman in order to simplify customs procedures, reduce fraudulent invoices and combat smuggling.
YCA Chairman praised the cooperation of Brigadier General of Omani Customs and his continuous response to Yemeni Customs to ensure the smooth flow of trade between the two countries.
The meeting was attended on the YCA side by Omar Baeis, General Manager of the Hadramout Customs Office, and on the Oman Customs side by Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Al Mamari, Director of Customs Audit.
